Super Bowl LIII Recap

By Jack Zinman (Sports Editor) This past Sunday, the Patriots and Rams faced off in a game that was hyped up ever since the AFC Championship game went final two weeks ago, and it is very safe to say that the game did not live up to the hype. The game started out with the Patriots receiving the kick, and Cordarrelle Patterson had an exciting return of 39 yards to set up the Patriots at their own 40 and maybe, just maybe showed us a preview of how the game would go. But it unfortunately did not. The Pats would drive down the field but Tom Brady would throw an interception to Corey Littleton on a horrible throw. The Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams is right around the corner, so our sports editors are taking to the typewriters to tell you how much the Patriots will win by: JACK ZINMAN:  38-34 Patriots If there’s one thing we all know about the football gods as Patriots fans is that they never make it easy on us. The two teams facing off in the championship game are the 15-3 Los Angeles Rams and the 13-5 New England Patriots. How did these two teams get here? Let’s start with the young and hungry Rams. The Rams had a remarkable 13-3 regular season with marquee wins against the Chiefs and the Chargers. They are led by young QB and MVP candidate Jared Goff. The head coach is Sean McVay who will be the youngest head coach to coach a Super Bowl at 32 years old. Boys’ Basketball Team Ready for New Season

By Eric Jansky (Correspondent) After last year’s record of 4-16, The boys’ basketball team plans to work harder, make the needed improvements, and beat last year’s record. There have been some changes in the coaching staff this year as the Junior Varsity coach, Colin Murphy, has decided to coach the boys varsity team at Ashland High School. The varsity assistant coach Josh Coran decided to fill that role of the JV coach. This leaves Andrew Ferguson as a solo head coach this year. Coach Ferguson is all about hard work and effort and consistently urges kidds to improve year after year. With the talented players from last year, Coach Ferguson’s goal was to make it to the State Tournament and hang a banner in the gym.
