The Sharon Eagles felt the pressure of a completely scoreless game as the game clock ticked under five minutes.
With an increased sense of urgency, the Eagles capitalized on a corner kick opportunity in the form of a header goal by captain Ben Stamm.
“I feel like we played well, all in all,” senior Oliver Hu said. “Our defense was solid in the back but our offense could have finished better,” the striker added.
Sharon outplayed the Warriors throughout the game, but they failed to execute. They scored just one goal on 16 shots.
“We have to work on finishing our chances and we have to play this physical every game,” junior midfielder Ty Hippler said.
“The score of the game does not really reflect the actual game,” Hu echoed.
Ethan Kantor returned in net after missing one game with a strained glute. Freshman Michael Baur remained sidelined with a deep bone bruise.
The 2-2-1 Eagles next face North Attleboro on Friday.
